Capital LTE: “Decision on Annexation Resolution Should Be Easy”

Capital Gazette: Letters to the Editor, June 22, 2016

What a laudable characteristic — the ability to admit having made a mistake and then make it right.

The City Council is revisiting the annexation of Crystal Spring.

The right thing to do is to rescind that portion of the annexation plan and exempt Crystal Spring forest.

This is not a typical site. It is a unique and disappearing gift needing to be protected and preserved.

While the process may be difficult, the decision should be easy.

City Council, do the right thing. The future will say good things about you. Wouldn’t it be great if we can look back and see this as an inflection point between mindless building and a moment when the environment came into its own?

You bet it would!
